Children’s Arts Installation Planning through Time, 2017

Alison was the lead artist on Planning through Time, a project developed in conjunction with Galway County Council’s Heritage Office, receiving Heritage Council (€2,500) and Arts Council, Young People, Children and Education funding (€10,000). It was located in Galway City Museum and Athenry Heritage Centre and held as part of Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.

The interactive installation explored the expansion of Irish towns and changes in architecture through time. The project invited schools from Galway to engage in a variety of curriculum based art activities to enhance their understanding of the evolution of Irish urban landscapes. The students tracked the development of different architectural periods and artistically explored town planning, heritage and architecture.
