The two mirror image mosaics are designed to show the Theory ofEntanglement.In this theorytwo sub-atomic particles (photons) are intrinsically linked, whatever happens to one must happen to the other, even when separated by vast distances. This technology is used for satellite and long distance communications.The photons here are set on a black, or very dark background to suggestspace. The mosaic is situated at the entrance to CONNECT’s department, visually explaining the concept to visitors.

Representing something at the cutting edge of technological design with such a traditional medium creates an interesting juxtaposition of future and past worlds.
